The travel continues … Côte d’Azur to Greece

Whatever I eat, Nanook wants it too! :)

A hot summer in Greece, means drinking 5-8 ltrs water a day, swimming and lots of fun! Many people ask me how my dog, a Samoyed, can live in hot weather. Well, as their coat protects them from the cold, their coat also protects them from the heat. Many do not know that their coat, actually, can keep them COOLER in hot weather than many other short haired dogs :) WOFF!

From the very hot Saint Maxime to cooler environment…

Boulevard Darby

Why not try out a proper golf hotel up in the cooler mountains. So, while a not so happy Nanook is told to take a nap, his mummy takes, finally (!), a dip in a swimming pool🌈

Finally! We ❤️ Italy!

Acqua Dolce - the most beautiful village of Castello dei Doria. We stayed one night at B&B Le Gemme, and what a gem!🌟👌Inside the castle there are small walkways between the many houses, a few cafees and galleries. Our apartment was on the top of the building…. What a view!🌈🌟

After driving all the way from Sainte Maxime, in 40+ 🔥This was the perfect stop. We should have stayed two nights though, at this unique and welcoming B&B. Me and my dog, we have never felt more like home during the many travels through Europe.

After exploring the many small streets inside the castle wall, we took a trip up north to Rocchetta Nervina - known mostly by locals for their restaurant and the water falls from the alpes.

Had a taste of their fantastic homemade gnocchi alla coniglio (rabbit) - the meat always goes for Nanook (patiently waiting under the table).

After the great meal, we started walking up the mountain behind the small village…

After a pit stop, 2.5 hours was spent on the road from Imperia to La Spezia

Found a nice Airbnb close to Castello di Rapallo and, as we arrived late, I got just in time for a plate full of «frutti di mare»👌🌟

After a quick walk, in the morning, of Rapallo, we headed directly towards Bologna. Not easy to find a parking when your hotel is in the very historical center of the city….

Art Hotel Commercianti - Your dog will be welcome anywhere, even for breakfast👌🐶

At Piazza Maggiore; the center of life in Beautiful Bologna❣️

In Italy it is about hugging, a lot, and with much passion❣️

And the road continues to the east coast; Sivota. 30 min south of Ancona. The cutest, smallest town just next to the sea, on a cliff….we arrived at the boutique hotel at night where the owner, so kindly, had prepared a plate full og fresh fruit to Enjoy after our drive from Bologna.

The incredible hospitality in Italy… the next day the Owner made us fried mussels with garlic and herbs … Yummm! Coming back only for those😋🥰

Pasta con frutti di mare; an irresistible dish, both for me and for Nanook🐶👌🌟🌟🌟

Some local specialties to bring with us to Greece👌Then off to Ancona 🚗🚢….

Bonta delle Marche; a deli in Ancona.

Over 40 degrees… guessing they all are headed for the beach🌴🥳

Mortadella, salame di Fabriano, prosciutto crudo di Parma, guanciale, …. Yumm! Tasting for 🐶👌

Finally, some fresh, cooling seabreeze💦

Nanook trying to look as cute as possible to our fellow travellers, also going to Greece. Any samoyed adores children🐶🌟

One egg sandwich for me, one for Nanook + lots of bacon. All they served on board for breakfast… not impressive…😵‍💫Where is the green stuff…?

After 25 hours with no sleep on the ferry, from Ancona/Italy to Igoumenitsa/Greece, we arrived at Sivota - a coastal, wonderful village only 30 min from where the boat arrived. We found a beautiful bungalow with private beach and view over the bay👌

The beach of Sivota👌

Don’t worry; the stray dogs Are kind here in Sivota🥰🐶🌴

The children are in charge in Sivota, by using water bottles💦😂💦

«Bom! Bom! Bom!»

The owner of the bungalow showed us around and told me the story of Sivota. It is too long to put down in words, but a lot has happened here through times. This must be the most friendly place in Sivota. We were greated by «Hello!», wherever we were strolling around. Lovely and genuine people👌🌟Smiles all around…

Driving from Sivota to Vouliagmeni lake, close to Loutraki (thereafter with final stop in Vouliagmeni, «blue» dot.

The Rio - Antirrio bridge, a stretch of 2380 meters, connecting the Peleponnese peninsula to the mainland of Greece.

Our favourite lake, close to Athens; Vouliagmeni lake - Loutraki
